What to Expect

in METAMORPHOSIS

the 6 Week Coaching Program

According to Buddhism, “Life is suffering.” And, suffering is avoidable.

Together, we review evidence-based tools (and the science behind them) to create routines that support your individual mental and physical health through applied physiology, ancient philosophy and self-regulatory practices.

Clients will be asked to spend 30 minutes to one hour each day on home practice, including time on your mat, journal prompts and/or reading in order to receive the most benefit.

Metamorphosis Curriculum Outline:
pace and depth will vary based on each client’s starting point

Week 1:     Caterpillar Stage - Assessment
Introductory session to assess needs and desired outcomes, includes a personalized guided meditation practice.

Week 2:     Caterpillar Stage - Preparation
Introduction of evidence-based tools and techniques and creation of personalized home practice.

Week 3:     Cacoon Stage - Discernment
Determination of the most effective tools and techniques for your individual daily needs and refinement of home practice.

Week 4:     Cacoon Stage - Development
Developing additional tools and techniques and applied methodology, includes guided self-evaluation.

Week 5:     Butterfly Stage - Integration
Discuss routine development and efficacy of tools and techniques for individual physiology and long-term healing.

Week 6.     Butterfly Stage - Expression
Determine most effective tools and techniques and methodology for personalized long-term care. Optional: Heart project

-       January 2020, Keynote Presentation. “Trauma Informed Toolkit for Child Care”
Kid’s Thrive Conference, Charlotte County Social Workers (6 hours)

 On January 2020, 125 Charlotte County social workers, DCF employees, Boys and Girls Club staff and behavioral health administrators joined for a six hour conference on “Trauma Informed Mindfulness for Child Care Early Interventions” led by Amy Osborne, M.A., former owner of North Port Yoga + Wellness and founder of In Yoga Collective. The day consisted of lecture, practice, small group discussion, Q+A and a trauma informed asana practice for participants to close the day. Read more as reported by the North Port Sun here.

-       November 2020, Guest Lecture. “Trauma Informed Therapeutic Yoga Applications” 

Loyola Marymount University’s Post Graduate Yoga TherapyYoga Therapy Applications (2 hours)

Amy guided a two hour Post Graduate lecture highlighting evidence based research on the physiological, psychological and neuroscientific implications of nervous system de-regulation. Students participated in activities and discussion aimed at recognizing privilege and power dynamics within trauma informed care and discerning appropriate therapeutic Yoga applications to promote regulation and resilience. 

-       February 2020, Keynote Presentation. “Trauma-Informed Community Re-Entry for Justice-Involved Persons.” Loyola Marymount University’s annual CSJ Symposium, Center for Reconciliation and Justice. “Faces of Justice: Listening, Discovering, Transforming.” (1 hour)

-       September 2019, Guest Lecture. “Yoga for Trauma Recovery”

LMU Undergraduate courseHealth Care for Marginalized Populations (3 hours)

 Amy met with undergraduate students in the Health Sciences field to discuss trauma informed methodology and therapeutic Yoga applications, including breathwork, meditation and mindfulness techniques for self-regulation. Students enjoyed a brief trauma informed practice applying related skills and tools, and engaged in conversation on the normalization of mental health symptoms of residual trauma, such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, ADHD, and OCD.

-       2019, Sarasota Memorial Hospital, one-time “open house style” workshop on Trauma Informed Mindfulness.
